Parents Organization of Flips

POOF stands for the Parent Organization of Flips. It is a parent organization established to: 1. Provide fundraising opportunities to offset some of the expenses incurred to compete or support the gymnasts. 2. Offload some of the time, effort and finances pertaining to meets. This leaves the FLIPS coaching and management teams dedicated to what they do best - coaching gymnastics. 3. Support our girls and give them the best experience possible. Essentially, POOF is responsible for all fees & activities required to support the competing gymnast aside from their actual gymnastics training. POOF has a board of five (elected at the annual FLIPS banquet) and is supported by all members who volunteer in various roles: fundraising, snack sales, travel coordinator, level representatives. Every family with a gymnast at FLIPS in a competitive level becomes a member of POOF. All POOF members are welcome at any POOF board meetings. Meetings usually take place the first Thursday of the month.

What Fees are associated with POOF?

* POOF Deposit: Each family must provide (to Dianne Thompson) a $100 deposit check made out to POOF by 1 September 2014. o Each family is required to work a total of 20 hours during the season. If the family does not meet the 20 hour responsibility, the check will be deposited into the general fund. Each family is responsible for logging hours worked. A log will be posted at FLIPS and family totals will be updated and posted on the POOF website monthly. For those who meet the required hours, checks will be returned after March 1st 2015. * Returning POOF Members Renewal Fee: Each returning family pays a $30 renewal membership fee, due by September 1. If a gymnast does not complete the season the deposit check will not be returned until pending balances of both the competition and non-competition accounts are paid in full. In addition, if the gymnast does not compete the season, and is found to owe money to POOF, the deposit check may be cashed to settle any pending debits. INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTS: There are two accounts per gymnast, a Monthly Meet Fee acct and Team Uniforms and Expenses acct (which require separate payments if paying by check) that can be paid online within the POOF website. The monies in the two accounts established for the gymnasts are NOT interchangeable - each account has its own separate page on the website. * Monthly Meet Fees vary by team and level and are due at the first of each month. Meet Fees may be reduced for a gymnast by discretion if, due to injury or other extenuating circumstances, a gymnast is unable to compete. Written notice is required to provide sufficient time so that no meet registrations are paid on behalf of that gymnast. * Team Uniforms and Expenses will be due to POOF at intervals throughout the year to cover expenses as indicated in the table on the bottom of the page. Please notice that these fees are due on the 15th of specified months. This due date is slightly different then your Monthly Meet Fees so that these expenses will not roll into your Monthly Meet Fees withdrawal for all which are registered for such processing. However, all unpaid Team Uniform and Expense charges if left unpaid by the 1st will be withdrawn on the 1st with your Monthly Meet Fees for all who are registered for such processing. Any positive balance at the end of the FY14-FY15 season will be automatically rolled over to cover obligations for the following year. Accounts are non-refundable. If a gymnast does not return, those funds revert to the General Reserve account. * Each gymnast may participate in the annual banquet if/when all accounts are up to date at the close of the season.
